There was nothing Willie Mays couldn't do and do well on a baseball diamond. He hit with awesome power, hit for average, had a rifle for an arm, could run like the wind and catch fly balls like no one else before him or after him. Willie was first the darling of New York and later the idol of San Francisco, a role model on and off the field. Willie appears in an incredible 24 All-Star games and four World Series and was elected tot he Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979, his first year of eligibility. This pen and ink drawing by artist Murray Tinkelman measures 17.5" x 20" and is framed and matted in Giants' black and orange. It is a great image of the "Say Hey Kid" reflecting his joy for the game. It is also signed in pencil by the artist.
