Mildred "Babe" Didrickson Zaharias broke the mold for women in sports. In the 1930s through the early ‘50s, she had Hall of Fame careers in track and golf, competing with a cocky confidence previously only displayed by male athletes, until her tragic death from cancer at age 45 in 1956. This darkly toned ONL Heydler ball signed by Babe is a natural for Zaharias devotees since she got her nickname for the way she could hammer a baseball with a Ruthian wallop. The ball is also signed by pitcher Guy Bush, who gave up the last two of Babe Ruth's 714 home runs, on a side panel.
