This veteran center is a throwback to the old days with his pass first, shoot second style. Oates seems to be able to see through opponents and deliver the puck as though with laser-beam accuracy. At 37, he's had stints with the Red Wings, Blues and Bruins, playing for the latter from 1990-97 and notching 142 points and 97 assists in 1992-93. This jersey was worn during the 1994-95 season playoffs. In the neck of the jersey is the "CCM" label and next to this is the size tag "52." On the back tail are the "CCM" and "NHL" patches. Inside the back tail is printed "Lettering By Custom Crafted" and next to this is "Official Boston Bruins Playoff Set 1994-95 Season." Next to this is "Thanks For the Memories Boston Garden 1928-1995." On the front of the jersey is the black/white/gold tackle twill Bruins emblem and on the back is a white mesh nameplate with the name "Oates." The player number "12" appears on the back of the jersey as well as on each sleeve. On the upper left front is the letter "A" denoting "Alternate Captain." All the letters and numbers are made of black on gold tackle twill. On the upper right front is "The Last Hurrah-Boston Garden September 26, 1995" patch. This was the last game played at the Boston Garden. The jersey shows good game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
