Willie Stargell was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988. During his 21-year career with the Pirates, Stargell batted .282 with 2,232 hits, 475 home runs and 1,540 RBI’s, helping his team capture two National League pennants and two World Series titles in 1971 and 1979. In the Pirates 1971 Championship season Stargell finished second in MVP voting, batting .295, hitting 48 home runs and driving in 125 runs. On the inside back left tail is the Rawlings manufacturers tag size “50” with an attached tag with washing instructions but measures out to a size "46" which is in line with Stargell jerseys. Across the chest reads “PIRATES”. The player number “8” appears below and on the back. All numbering and lettering is done in black on gold tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Originally sourced from the Stargell family. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA grading the jersey a 9+.
