Frank Robinson is in the storied “500 Home Run” club after clubbing 586 home runs. Throughout his career he would go on to win two World Series Championships and is the only player to be named MVP in both leagues, 1961 with Cincinnati and 1966 with Baltimore where he also won the triple crown. In 1975, Robinson made more history becoming the first black manager in Major League Baseball as a player/manager with the Cleveland Indians. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1982. On the front left tail is the Wilson manufacturers tag size “44” with washing instructions. Adjacent below is a strip tag reading “1970 set 1” embroidered in black chain stitching. Across the chest reads “Orioles” in script style writing. The player number “20” appears on the front and back. These are done in orange on black tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name “F. ROBINSON” in black tackle twill. The name on back has been professionally restored. Robinson signed the back of the jersey in black marker and in our opinion the signature rates a near 8. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA, a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match to the 1970 World Series and grading the jersey a 9.
