Steve Olin tragically passed away in a 1993 boating accident while still an active player with the Cleveland Indians. This jersey was gifted to his wife on Opening Day of 1993 and would have been worn by him. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturers tag size “46” with washing instructions. Attached are two flag tags reading “100% POLYESTER” and “+2” Back Only”. On the right sleeve is the number “31” under an arrow pointing upwards (for Olin) and “52” under a star (for Crews) within a baseball memorial patch and on the left sleeve is an Indians team logo patch. Across the chest reads “INDIANS” in blue on red tackle twill. Adjacent below is the player number “31” in red tackle twill. Across the back on a white nameplate is the player name “OLIN” and below is the player number “31” done in blue on red tackle twill. This jersey is sourced from the Indians equipment manager and was returned or possibly gifted to him after the ceremony on Opening Day. Accompanied by a photo of his wife receiving the jersey.
