Joe Montana is considered by many to be the best quarterback to ever step onto the gridiron. In college at the University of Notre Dame, Montana gave a glimpse of things to come in the NFL when he led the "Fightn' Irish" to a National Championship in 1977. While in the NFL, this recent Hall of Fame inductee, led his 49ers to four Super Bowl Championships during his illustrious career and was named Super Bowl MVP three times. This "Bike" football helmet with a double bar and gray face mask was worn by Montana during the mid 1980s. On both sides of this gold helmet is the "49ers" logo and running down the center of the helmet are red/white/red stripes. On the back of the helmet is the "NFL" logo and on the inside right ear is the number "16" in red dyno tape. On the inside left ear is "Montana" written in red dyno tape and the number "16" written in black marker. The helmet shows game use.
