Selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1979 NFL draft, it took a season and a half for Joe Montana to become the starting quarterback for coach Bill Walsh's club. Once at the helm of the offense, Montana was able to lead his club to four Super Bowl victories. As a result of his unbelievable accomplishments in the big games, Montana is considered by many to be the greatest quarterback in NFL history. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" exclusive label and below is the size tag "46". On the back of the jersey is a white mesh nameplate with the name "Montana". The player number "16" appears on the front, back and on each sleeve of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of red tackle twill. There is a repair mark on the shirt. The jersey comes with an additional letter of authenticity. It shows game use and with the exception of the repair mark, appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
