One month after helping the Steelers win their second straight Super Bowl, Rocky Bleier was awarded another bowl in the form of the Vince Lombardi Award. This impressive silver trophy stands 9" tall and features Bleier's name engraved along with a recognition of him being "a courageous athlete who overcame war wounds in Vietnam and a faltering start in pro football to win a Super Bowl ring and a warm spot in the hearts of all fans." The honor - not to be confused with the Lombardi Award that is awarded to the nation's best college football player. The date February 9, 1975 is also engraved. Accompanied by a news photo of him receiving it from the widow of the Hall of Fame Packers coach.
