Longtime fans of the New York Giants can pinpoint an era in the team's history by the style of the team's helmet. In the ‘60s, when Big Blue played on the chewed-up turf of Yankee Stadium, the "NY" logo was inscribed in lower-case lettering on either side of the helmet. In the ‘70s, a design change was made to a more modern-looking upper-case "NY." Two white stripes were also added to the traditional single red stripe from front to back. When the team moved to the New Jersey Meadlowlands in 1976, the logo changed to "Giants." Last season the team reverted back to the original lower-case "NY." This helmet dates back to the 1970s. The "Riddell" label is on the front. While the masking tape that was used to add the three stripes have slightly begun to peel off, as have the stick-on "NY" logos, the helmet has held its royal blue color very well despite indications of good game-use. The original padding inside is intact. The helmet appears to have no alterations of any kind.
