The Penn State All-American was drafted on the first round of the 1995 draft pick by the expansion team and quickly guided the team to a record for first-year teams, 7 wins. Collins passed for 2,717 yards and 14 TDs that season and led the Panthers to the NFL Championship Game the year after. Collins is now the starting QB for the New York Giants. On the helmet worn by Collins during his rookie campaign, "Riddell" appears on the front of the helmet. Under the right ear flap are a series of numbers beginning with "95" which denotes the year the helmet was made. Under the left ear flap is the size tag "7 3/4". Above this is a label stating that the helmet was recertified in 1996. On the back is the name "Panthers", the player number "12" and the "NFL" label. On each side of the helmet is the Panthers' emblem. There is an autograph on the right front of Collins' name and number in black magic marker, rating a strong 9. The helmet shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
