After establishing a Hall-of-Fame-worthy career in Japan, Ichiro Suzuki took little time to prove he was as legitimate as it gets. In his first season with the Seattle Mariners, Suzuki earned the American League Rookie of the Year Award and the AL MVP. Suzuki led the league in hits, stolen bases and batting average, and for good measure earned a Gold Glove Award. A future first ballot Hall of Fame inductee, Suzuki has proven to be one of the best hitters in baseball history. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Below is a tag with the year, “2001” printed on it and a flag tag that reads, “100% POLYESTER 48”. Across the chest reads, “MARINERS” in navy blue on teal on metallic silver triple tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name, “ICHIRO” on a white nameplate and below is the player number “51”. These are done in navy blue on teal tackle twill. On the left sleeve is an embroidered patch that reads, “ALL STAR GAME 2001 SEATTLE” and below is a Russell Athletic logo embroidered. On the right sleeve is a “100 SEASONS AMERICAN LEAGUE” patch. Ichiro signed the back of the jersey inside the player number “5” and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. Beneath the signature is an Ichiro hologram. Also included is a navy blue long sleeve undershirt with the player number “51” on the front left tail and also has an Ichiro hologram. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Mill Creek LOA for the undershirt, an Ichiro COA for the jersey and an ALOA from JSA for the signature.
