As Brett Favre's backup, Mark Brunnell would have gotten into a game about as much as a Hyundai needs a fill-up. After two years in that role, Brunnell's liberation came when he was tapped as the starting quarterback for the expansion Jaguars in 1997. He quickly bloomed, throwing for 3,281 yards and 18 TDs and rushing for 257 yards and 2 scores. The third-ranked NFL QB that year, for his career Brunnell is ranked as a passer only behind guys named Young, Montana, Fravre and Marino. His jersey from ‘97 has in the neck a patch reading "97-48" denoting the year and size respectively. At the base of the "V" neck is the "NFL" patch and on the left front tail is the "Nike Pro Line" label. On the back of the jersey is a white mesh nameplate with the name "Brunnell." The player number "8" appears on the front, back and on each shoulder of the jersey. All the letters and numbers are made of teal green on mustard/black tackle twill. On each sleeve is the Jaguars' patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations on any kind.
