Like an automobile, a football team won't go anywhere without a steering wheel. For the Dallas Cowboys, the wheel is Troy Aikman, who arrived from UCLA after the ‘Boys went 1-15 in 1989 and in the 11 years since has steered the team to six NFL East and three Super Bowl titles. Aikman, whose 90 wins in the ‘90s made him the winningest QB of any decade, entered last season holding 45 team passing records, including yards (33,310), TDs (158) and completion percentage (62). Aikman wore this white mesh Cowboy jersey during the 1994 season. At the base of the "V" neck is the "NFL" patch. On the front tail is the "Apex" label and adjacent is the size tag "46 Long." On the back is a white nameplate with the name "Aikman." The player number "8" appears on the front, back and on each shoulder. The letters and numbers are blue and have been ironed-on. On the upper left front is the "NFL 75" anniversary patch, which has been custom lowered because Aikman likes to wipe his fingers right below his shoulder where this patch would normally be located. Aikman autographed the back of the shirt in black marker along with his number, and the signature rates an 8. The jersey comes with an additional letter of authenticity from the Cowboys equipment manager on Cowboys stationery. It shows game-use and with the exception of the custom lowered 75th patch appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
