Like the Roman Coliseum, the Boston Garden will remain a shrine in the minds of sports purists because the best athletes in the world left their blood and sweat (Celtic opponents left the tears) on the Garden's parquet floor, ice or canvas. Fans who witnessed these spectacles from the comfort of locations such as this block of four seats glow with the memories of Bill Russell vying for rebounds with Wilt Chamberlain, Hondo Havlicek's winning shot in triple OT, Larry Bird mano a mano with Dr. J and Dominique, Bobby Orr's mad rushes from the blue line and Marvelous Marvin Hagler's hair-stiffening right hooks. As befitting those battles, the seats have their own scars, in a variety of markings, chisel marks and graffiti on the yellow paint, including what appears to be a fan's signature from 1993. The numbers "1", "2", "3" and "4" are stenciled on each seat in white and at either end of the block is a detailed figural design.
