In 1919, baseball was rocked with a scandal that threatened to ruin the game when it was discovered that eight men had thrown the World Series. Baseball may have forever been changed had it not been for one man, George Herman "Babe" Ruth. Ruth single-handedly restored the love that the public had for the game. He became the first great star of the 20th century, endearing himself to millions with his skill on the field and his love for children off the field. One child was most likely the recipient of this spectacular autograph. This 2x3-1/2" card was signed by Ruth in fountain pen with a signature that rates a strong 9. The card shows some light discoloration due to age that in no way detracts from the visual appeal of this tremendous signature.
