Back in the days when baseball was a religion for kids, there was no more coveted picture on any kid's bedroom wall than that of Babe Ruth. It was surely a day to remember when this 8" x 10" photograph of a hatless Babe swinging his mighty bat was autographed by for some very lucky youngsters in New Jersey. Ruth collectors will have their own reasons to want this picture, since it actually has two Ruth signatures, one across the upper left quadrant that reads, "To the Babe Ruth Boys Club of Rahway, N.J. Best wishes and keep trying, Babe Ruth, 1946." There is also a touch of sadness, as Ruth would soon be diagnosed with terminal cancer. Consequently, this may be among the last autographs by the man whose signature may be sports' most valuable commodity. The photo is lightly sepia-toned and is in excellent condition, displaying only a scant few creases and one small unobtrusive tear near the right lower corner that is mostly on the photo's white border. The signatures are both strong, each rating no less than a 9.
