Although Mickey Mantle's towering strength and courage inspired a generation of baby boomer males in the 1950s and 1960s, the humble Mick himself never liked to brag on himself or call attention to his many achievements. This is a stunning, near mint OAL MacPhail ball signed by Mantle with his Hall of Fame stats. Even rarer is the fact that on the sweet spot Mantle signed his full name, "Mickey Charles Mantle," which grades an 9, as well as the flashy nickname that was pinned on him but which he shunned, "The Commerce Comet," and the notation "56, 57, 62 MVP. No. 7." On another panel is, "1956 T.C. (for Triple Crown), 536 HR," and on another, "HOF 74." We believe this to be the ultimate Mantle ball.
