Adrian "Cap" Anson was an outstanding player and player-manager with the Chicago White Stockings who helped establish the game in its formative years. A stocky third baseman, Anson failed to hit over .300 only once in 22 seasons and his teams won six championships in the 1870s and 1880s. Comments of the Critics Dramatic and Sporting." Anson was still active on the vaudeville stage in his 60s. There are three pictures of the Hall of Famer, one in uniform and two high-toned shots in a suit. This rare and diverting historical curio is in excellent condition.
