This deep purple silk hat band is a souvenir of the days when straw hats dotted baseball stadiums. It dates back to the 1911 season at Philadelphia's Shibe Park, when Connie Mack's Athletics were en route to their second straight championship flag. The band has the team's elephant logo inside a crest with two bats behind it and a gold pennant with "Athletics" inside. The beautifully preserved piece has great eye appeal, with colors as bright and crisp as they were 90 years ago and the silk nearly flawless.
