Joe Namath was an American Football League icon and played for the New York Jets for most of his professional career. The apex of his career was his performance in the Jets' 1969 victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in the third World Championship Game after the AFL-NFL merger. Namath was named MVP of Super Bowl III and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1985. On the front left tail is the Champion manufacturer’s tag size “L” with washing instructions. The player number “12” appears on the front and back and across the back is the player name “NAMATH” in white tackle twill. The player number also appears on each sleeve in green tackle twill. Namath signed the back of the jersey in blue marker and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriately light use. Accompanied by an LOA stating that the jersey was obtained from Jets equipment manager Herb Norman and an ALOA from JSA.
