After retiring from basketball in 1994, Michael Jordan spent the next year pursuing a childhood dream to play professional baseball. He signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox of the American League, reported to spring training, and was assigned to the minor league affiliate Birmingham Barons. In the 1994 season he recorded 51 RBI and 30 SB. He led the club with 11 bases-loaded RBI and 25 RBI with runners in scoring position and two outs. Inside the rear collar is the Wilson manufacturer's plastic tag size “48” with washing instructions, which is correct for the Barons in this era. On the left sleeve is the White Sox team organization logo patch. On the right sleeve is the minor league variation of the MLB “Professional Baseball 125th Anniversary” patch. Across the front reads, “Birmingham” and below and across the back is the player number “45”. All numbering and lettering is done in black on white tackle twill. Jordan signed on the back of the jersey in silver marker, and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a George Koehler LOA stating the jersey was received directly from Jordan, a Full JSA LOA and a Beckett LOA from the signature.
