On April 8, 1974, Al Downing allowed a home run to Hank Aaron that was the 715th of his career, breaking the all-time record set by Babe Ruth. Inside the rear collar is the Goodman & Sons manufacturer’s tag size “42” with washing instructions. On the front left tail is a grey strip tag reading “Set 1 ‘74”. Across the chest reads “Dodgers” in script style writing done in blue tackle twill. Adjacent below is the player number “44” in red tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “DOWNING” and beneath is the player number “44” in blue tackle twill. Downing signed both the front and back of the jersey in black marker with the added inscription “1974” and in our opinion the signatures rate a combined 9. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
