In 1932, an autograph hound named Mike Trivisonno set out to collect signatures from some of the greatest ballplayers. His first name, "Clown Prince" Al Schacht was collected on August 9 and thereafter came the likes of HOFers Charlie Gehringer, Earl Averill and Bucky Harris. Mike struck gold by getting three sheets each of names from the two most dominant teams of the era: the Philadelphia A's and NY Yankees. Among the 16 A's players are HOFers Connie Mack, Lefty Grove, Mickey Cochrane, Jimmie Foxx, Eddie Collins and Al Simmons, as well as Ray Mahaffey, Roger Cramer, Max Bishop, Bing Miller, etc. Of the 19 Yanks, are HOFers Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Tony Lazzeri, Vernon "Lefty" Gomez, Charles "Red" Ruffing. and Herb Pennock, as well as Walter Brown, Frank Crosetti, George Pipgras, etc. As if all this weren't enough, Mike then reeled in HOFers Rick Ferrell and Joe McCarthy and there is one sheet reserved for the great Walter Johnson. All the signatures in the book are of particularly high quality, mostly 8s or higher with many in black fountain pen.
