With his oversized horn-rim spectacles and gabbiness, Harry Caray was just as popular as the ballplayers he waxed about from up in the broadcast booth. Shouting "Holy Cow!" and leading Cub fans in 7th inning renditions of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," Caray captivated listeners for 53 years as the voice of both Chicago teams and the St. Louis Cardinals. This lot includes a June 17, 1969 tab from Busch's Grove restaurant which Caray signed in pencil in script style on the front and apparently in blue pencil in block letters on the back. Both signatures rate 8s. There is also a gag cardboard likeness of Caray with the eyes cut out so one can peer through it, a decal with a Caray caricature in black and white and a photo of the statue erected in Caray's honor outside Wrigley Field. All items are in excellent condition and the tab comes with a certificate of authenticity.
