This is a riveting and revealing photo of arguably the two greatest pure hitters of all time, Ted Williams and Stan Musial, apparently taken at the 1948 All-Star Game in St. Louis in which Musial cracked a two-run homer in the first inning. Each man signed the photo over the white area of his uniform in blue marker. Musial signed his name only and Williams signed his name and an inscription to Musial that begins, "To my friend Stan I told my son you were every bit as good as ever went to the plate". Both signatures rate an 8. The photo measures 16" x 20", is bordered in brown against an off-white background and is handsomely mounted in a 24-1/2" x 29" brown frame.
