Because the incredible Willie Mays was still tearing the horsehide off the ball in the mid 1960s, winning his third and fourth home run titles in 1964 and 1965 and his second MVP award the latter year, the Topps Chewing Gum Company may have had this contract delivered to the Say Hey Kid in a Brinks armored truck. Dated February 28, 1966, the contract is made out to "Willie H. Mays" and extends his service to the company by two years. It is signed by Mays with a flourish not generally seen in Mays autographs, in blue ink with the i's dotted by two circles. The signature rates a 9. The contract has a slight tear on the surface of the otherwise excellent condition page that has a Bazooka gum depiction under the letterhead.
