The 1944 World Series was an all-St. Louis affair, as the Browns took a one-year respite from losing to stage a Cinderella pennant victory (thanks to the depletion of big league talent during WWII) and a made run against Stan Musial's powerhouse Birds. These two vintage programs from the Series bring back the excitement that made Sportsman's Park (home to both teams) crackle that October as the Browns took a 2 to 1 lead in games, only to lose the next three games. Each measures 9" x 12", with one displaying the teams' names on a brown-orange cover and the other reading "National vs. American League" on a blue cover. The latter is in excellent condition, the former in good condition with some fraying.
