Bobby Thomson was an capable .270 career over 15 seasons who lived out the most unlikely baseball dream on October 3, 1951 when one swing of his bat put the last line on the New York Giants' storybook pennant comeback. Thomson came to bat with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and the Giants trailing their rival Brooklyn Dodgers 4-2 and blasted Ralph Branca's fastball into the leftfield seats at the Polo Grounds for a game-winning 3-run homer, igniting a wild victory celebration on the field and whooping cries of "The Giants win the pennant!" resounding in Coogan's Bluff. This ticket stub from that fabled game freezes in time perhaps baseball's most thrilling moment of all. The lower grandstand seat is preserved in a sturdy plexiglass holder and is in an incredible excellent to near mint condition.
