Cobb's 23-year Hall of Fame career from 1905-28 yielded 4,191 hits and a record .367 batting average, but just as compelling is Cobb's menacing style of play and bitter resentments. This haunting charcoal sketch of the Georgia Peach reveals a man who would never find peace in his life. It is composed in shades of brown and white by artist Bruce James Prochaska in 1994 and depicts Cobb in his prime in his Tigers cap staring into the distance. The etching measures 15-1/2" x 20" and is mounted in a 22" x 26" brown wood frame that has a few scattered chips.
