Scharfman has gotten inside not just the locker room but inside the emotions of athletes tasting ultimate victory in these shots taken during the afterglow of the Mets' 1969 World Series win and the Dodgers' 1965 triumph. The Mets' celebration is definitely wetter, as the Amazin's chug and douse each other with champagne in two 9" x 13" photos, while an 11" x 14" photo shows the more businesslike Dodgers engaging in a group hug centering around big-gun pitcher Sandy Koufax. A separate 13" x 19" photo of Koufax shows much different emotions, the concern and fear evident in Sandy's eyes as he soaks the arthritic left elbow that forced him to prematurely retire in 1966. These four photos are in excellent condition.
