This lot of 17 mixed-size photos makes the players seem to leap from the pictures and captures the intensity on their faces. Scharfman's eye-grabbing stills include vintage moments from college and pro games from the 1950s through the 1970s, an era dominated by Wilt Chamberlain, who is seen here going over Connie Dierking and Oscar Robertson in one shot, and Bill Russell, who battles Wilt for position in the paint in another. But Scharfman's favorite subject is Walt Frazier, whose ballet-like smoothness is seen in a series of moves against John Havlicek and Paul Westphal in classic Knick-Celtic confrontations. All photos are in excellent condition save for one college shot that is damaged on the upper left corner.
