The "old" Madison Square Garden at Eighth Avenue and 49th Street, hosted nearly every conceivable indoor sport, but it was hockey that inaugurated the building and bid adieu to it. Forty-five years after the New York Americans and Montreal Canadiens broke the ice at what was then a sports palace, the Rangers and Detroit Red Wings played the final game in the now-decrepit Garden on February 11, 1968. Exactly a week later, the Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers christened the new Garden on Seventh Avenue and 33rd Street. These two collectors-item programs from those two historic games are rendered more valuable by an attached ticket stub from the respective game on each one's cover. The programs are in very good or better condition.
