Jimmy Connors is known for his intensity and longevity, ranking among the top 10 players in the world every year from 1973-88. He holds the record -- matched by Pete Sampras this year -- of being ranked No. 1 in men's singles for five straight years (1974-78), and he won the U.S. Open five times, Wimbledon twice and the Australian Open once. Connor's day-glow yellow "ESTUSA" PROTOUR racket is of the Jimmy Connors series made of graphite and labeled oversize. One mono-filament strand is broken and others toward the center show good match use. Connors signed the lemon yellow handle grip and the autograph rates 8 to 9. Jimmy's size 9, worn, white polished NIKE's have the familiar orange/green/blue soles and green/blue insoles and tongues. The right sneaker's insole cushion has been replaced with a "SPENCO" brand cushion and Connors' autograph is on the left senaker, rating a 7. The tennis shirt has a band sewn inside the collar with "Jimmy Connors" printed at least 8 times along its length. A right sleeve patch is embroidered with "DIET PEPSI" and two left sleeve patches are embroidered with "JIMMY CONNORS" and " NUPRIN." Connors' autograph under the left breast logo rates a 7.
