This item dates back to the 1928 series between the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals, that again anointed Ruth, Gehrig & Co. as the World Champs. The Bombers swept the Cards, with Ruth slamming 3 homers in the last game and Gehrig slugging one in 3 different games. This Hamilton watch was presented to Sid Keener, then the sports editor of the St. Louis Times, who acted as official scorer for the Series. The silver-bordered facing of the watch is intricately detailed and surrounds an antique-looking interior with stylish black numbers against a beige backing with a separate box for the second hand. On the back of the crown is the inscription, "Sid C. Keener, Official Scorer, 1928 World Series, St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Yankees." The watch has a leather band.
