Pancho Herrera, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound first baseman from Cuba, played three seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1959-1960. He racked up a respectable .271 average with 31 homers and 128 RBIs. Herrera won this gleaming trophy as MVP of the 1968 season. The silver trophy stands 26" high mounted on a marble base. There is a statue of a hitter swinging a bat atop a double-handle cup on which is engraved "La Cronica ara el Jugador Mas Valioso" with Herrera's name and his team, Maroneros de Citadel Carmen, The trophy has some very light nicks and scratches and overall is in excellent condition.
