Three-time big league manager Renee Lachemann has been a fixture in baseball dugouts for the past 36 years as player, coach and skipper. Currently the bench coach for the Cubs, Lachemann played briefly with the KC & Oakland A's in the 1960s. When the Oakland A's won their first championship in 1972, he was with the A's minor league Iowa team. The following year, when the A's repeated, he was managing their Chattanooga farm club. As a valued member of the organization, Lachemann was given this ring commemorating the A's two-year title reign. The excellent condition size 10-1/2 ring has a green central stone and a gold on black engraving that reads "World Champions 72-73." The left shank has the A's logo and his name and the right shank reads "A's 4, Mets 3" and "A's 4, Reds 3" along with the letters "S+S=S."
