Under effervescent rookie manager Tom Lasorda, the Los Angeles Dodgers showed their mettle in the LCS against the Philadelphia Phillies. After dropping the opener, they stormed back to win the next two games, closing it out when Tommy John beat Cy Young winner Steve Carlton in game four with a 1-hit, 8-strikeout masterpiece. This glittering NL championship ring signifies a team effort from top to bottom, anchored by veteran first baseman Steve Garvey and sparked by speedy second baseman Dave Lopes, as well as airtight pitching by Tommy John and future Hall of Famer Don Sutton. The size-10, 10K ring was presented to a Dodger scout whose name "Keenan" is engraved within a pennant on the left shank above the Dodgers logo. The crown of the ring has a purple stone inside a baseball field with a diamond on each of the four corners. Around the border are the words "Dodgers, National League Champions" and on the right shank is an engraving of a jet plane and "LA 1977."
