Ted Williams will forever be remembered as one of the great hitters of all time. The last man to hit .400, it is said that his dream was to walk down the street and have people turn and say "There goes the greatest hitter who ever lived." Over 19 seasons Williams worked to gain that reputation and a strong argument can be made that he succeeded. A 17 time All-Star, he was twice named the American League MVP and led the league in batting six times. With a .344 lifetime batting average, Williams hit a total of 521 home runs and amassed 2,654 hits. This Hillerich and Bradsby, model W166, bat measures 35 inches in length and weighs 32 ounces. It shows the labeling period 1951-55 and exhibits evidence of game-use. A true treasure from baseballs' history.
