In 1985 Mike Greenwell took on one of the hardest jobs in baseball,, that of replacing Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski in the outfield for Boston. During his 12 seasons in baseball, Greenwell did a fine job playing in two All Star games and hit a very respectable .303 for his career. This glove was used by Greenwell during the late 1980s. On the outside is the "Franklin" label and below this is his jersey number "39 " in black marker. The Backhander appears burnt onto the thumb. It is an Ultrpro with the model number 9504. The bat is a 33.75 inch 31.7 ounce Louisville Slugger, model C235. It shows the labeling period 1986-89 and exhibits nice game-use with light pine tar on the handle. There is a handle crack and various ball marks scattered about the barrel.
