On a club featuring Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, and Warren Spahn, Del Crandell helped turn the Milwaukee Braves into a National League power with his hitting and receiving skills. Crandall caught no hitters from Lew Burdette and Warren Spahn, and is considered one of the leagues' top catchers of his era. This Hillerich & Bradsby, model R43, measuring 34.75 inches and weighing 32.7 ounces, shows evidence of nice game-use with a handle crack that has been repaired with a few small nails. Light grain separation is visible on the back of the barrel.
