The 2001 season has catapulted Barry Bonds from being a baseball star, into a baseball legend. As of this writing Bonds is well on pace to meet and break Mark McGwire's single season homerun record. A nine-time all star, he has earned eight Gold Glove awards for his offensive skills and been named the NL MVP three times. A lock for the Hall of Fame, Bonds has recently hit his 500th homerun and shows no sign of letting up and many predict he will fall second on the list behind Aaron when all is said and done. This Sam Bat, model 2K1, measures 34 inches in legnth and weighs 31.8 ounces. It shows evidence of great game-use with many ball and bat rack marks about the barrel. The handle has been taped for grip, as is common to most Bonds gamers, and there is a moderate amount of pine tar on the tape. The bat has been cracked and repaired and a small section of the tape on the handle has been peeled back, most likely to inspect the crack. In the cupped end "34" 31.8 oz 03 07 01 Bonds B.B." has been written in black ink by the factory. This is a pictur-perfect game-used bat from one of the most prolific home run hitters of our time and is without question one of the best that exists. It has been signed on the barrel in silver and is accompanied by Bonds certification.
