Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973, Roberto Clemente is remembered as not only a terrific ball player, but as a tremendous humanitarian. In his 18 years as a Major League star, Clemente won four batting crowns and amassed a total of 3,000 hits. Tragically his life ended when a plane carrying him and relief supplies crashed en route to helping the victims of an earthquake. This uncracked Louisville Slugger, model U1, measures 35.75 inches in legnth and weighs 37.8 ounces. It shows the labeling period 1965-68, one of the most productive periods of his career, with evidence of heavy game-use. The knobless full name script letter bat has his jersey number "21" on the knob and has "scoring" about the barrel. A true treasure of the history of Americas' game from one of its most visible stars.
