Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000, Tony Perez is best remembered for being an integral part of Cincinnati's "Big Red Machine" of the 1970s. Perez was one of the first players to make the jump from a full time job in Cuba to the Major Leagues in the United States. A seven time All Star he was voted the MVP of the 1967 All Star game. This Louisville Slugger, model R43, measures 35.25 inches in length and weighs 34 ounces. It shows nice game-use with pine tar and has a handle crack. Perez has signed the bat "Tony Perez #24" in black marker on the barrel and the autograph rates a strong 8 to 9. His jersey number "24" appears on both ends of the bat in vintage marker. BiCentennial bats have always incredibly popular with collectors and this as fine an example as there is to be found.
