Because Babe Ruth was seen around town in winter in an overcoat about as much as he was seen in the summer in his pinstriped flannel Yankee uniform, Royal clothiers featured the Babe in an advertising campaign for Royal Tiger coats aimed at the full-sized man listing the Babe's measurements -- including 44" around the middle -- and guaranteeing that big men would pay no more than regular-sized ones. The color ad shows Ruth in a fur-lined coat and roadsters cap against a yellow background and reads, "Babe Ruth pays no tax on his size." The 18" x 22" ad is in excellent condition and is mounted in a black frame.
