The Yankees suffered the longest drought in the team's modern history when they went 18 seasons without winning a championship ring. When the dry spell ended with the 1996 World Series victory over the Atlanta Braves, the rings given to each member of that edition of the Bombers as well as selected club officials clearly had special meaning. This particular ring was presented to Zavala, the Yankees' Domician scout. The 10K gold, size 10 in near mint condition ring is magnificent in its design and content. Around the top of the ring is written "World Champions 1996." At the recessed top of the ring are 24 small diamonds, totaling approximately one carat and spelling out the NY Yankee logo, while resting on a large blue stone. On the left shank is the name "Zavala," a gold World Series Trophy with the engraved words "Courage" and "Heart." On the right shank is the Yankee top hat logo over a ball and set against Yankee Stadium and the word "Tradition." The ring comes in the original NY Yankee presentation brown wood box.
