As a kid in Puerto Rico, Bernie Williams played in the Mickey Mantle League. As a man, he holds down Mantle's hallowed centerfield position at Yankee Stadium, as one of baseball's most reliable all-around performers and the cornerstone of the New York Yankees' four-title dynasty. The quiet, cobra-like Williams racked up a .304 average and 151 home runs in his 10-year career, winning the AL batting crown in 1998 with a. .339 mark. This Yankees batting helmet was worn by Williams in 1996 when he hit .305 with 29 dingers and 102 RBIs. The well-worn, dark blue, size-7-1/8 helmet has Williams' number "51" on the front and back.
