Baseball's all-time strikeout leader and with a major-league record seven no-hitters to his credit, Nolan Ryan is in many ways the most remarkable pitcher ever to play the game. Ryan's 5,714 strikeouts are seemingly unsurpassable, with today's best flamethrowers finding 4,000 Ks to be a challenge. Ryan became a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 1999 with support from 98.8% of the voters. Ryan wore this Houston Astros home rainbow knit jersey during the 1986 season, when the Astros went to the National League Championship Series. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Goodman & Sons" label and size "44." On the left sleeve of the jersey is the "Houston Astros 1986 All-Star Game" patch commemorating the 1986 All-Star Game, which was held at the Astrodome in Houston. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Astros" in navy on white tackle twill. On the left breast is the Astros' "Star" and on the back is the player number "34." Both the star and the number are made of navy on white tackle twill. The jersey shows good game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
