Thomson hit what is perhaps the most famous home run in baseball history. His dramatic "shot heard 'round the world" on October 3, 1951, a three-run, ninth-inning homer off Brooklyn pitcher Ralph Branca, capped the Giants' historic comeback to win the NL pennant. Below the waistband of the pants is a white felt patch reading "B Thomson 54" which has been done in red chain stitch. The number denotes the year. Below this is the wash tag. The size tag "34" and "Wilson" label appear inside the pants as well. The pants show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
