"Hammerin" Hank Aaron had an understated style that could make him look lazy; he was anything but. He won his first batting title in 1956, his third Major League season. When the Braves won a wild National League Western division race in 1969, Aaron became a serious threat to Babe Ruth's lifetime record. On a muggy April night in Atlanta in 1974, Aaron hit his 715th home run, breaking Ruth's career record. In the collar of the jersey is a white felt patch with the year "1971" in blue chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size "40." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Braves" in script style letters and on the back is the player number "44." The letters and numbers are made of blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Braves "Indian Head" patch and on the right sleeve is an autograph. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
